If you have not updated your resume recently you could be jeopardizing your career.
Most of us don’t think about our resume unless we are actively looking for work. That can be a big mistake. Having a current and up to date record of your career achievements allows you to respond almost instantly to a request for information, or an unexpected layoff. Even if you are not looking to change employers your resume can help you advance your career. Many times, new positions or promotion opportunities within your current company require a resume to start the process. Good opportunities don’t last long and if you take a week to update your ten year old resume you might just lose out to the less experienced person who has a well written and up to date resume they can provide the same day.
Take some time to review and update your resume. Doing this on a regular basis might just be the difference between getting your dream job or staying in that cramped cubicle. If you need some help or want tips on how to write a good resume take a look at this site.
January 8th, 2008 — Diet and Nutrition, Quick Tips
Have you set a commitment for 2008 to lose weight? Millions of us have, and unfortunately, most will fail. There are many factors that affect your ability to lose weight but one of the biggest, if not the biggest, is overeating. Simply put, you gain weight by taking in more calories than you burn.
I was speaking with a friend yesterday who mentioned that on a recent cruise (with food available 24 hours a day) he used sandwich plates instead of dinner plates to try to limit overeating. He said, “I figured if I’m going to go back for seconds I might as well do it with a smaller plate”. What he found was that he would eat less overall by using a smaller plate. Even if he ate two platefuls of food on the smaller plate it was the same or less than one dinner sized plate. He also felt full sooner using the small plates.
So, if you are trying to limit the amount of food you eat, try using a smaller plate. It might help you feel full sooner and help you keep your calorie intake under control.
